The Poet Community

Untitled | A Poem by Sherlina Kaur

they have words
that sting like acid
but their mouths won’t burn
like yours
when keeping silent
when it becomes
the only way out

they have hands
that reach for your spine
almost if not already
snapping it to halves
while they tell you
it’s not so bad
and that you should
just grow a new one
