Death Remembered | A Poem by Robert League

I remember midnight
late walks with death,
hand in frigid
rigid hand,
eye to icy blue eye,
a conversation lingering
on my solitary
breath in the air,
a question I did not
want to ask,
an answer I did not
really want to hear.
