Finding Value for Terrible Things | A Poem by Casey Powers

From each and every sorrow and negative event
the smith cleaves off an opportunity
for something good to come of it,
adds one to every measure of silver brew.

Then he calls in the help of wind;
together they blow as hard as they can,
giving each dose an individual send-off
in the great annual event called
Lining the Clouds when the rains begin.
