Ceased Desire | A Poem by Ken Allan Dronsfield

As for my being;
it has ceased to feel,
hibernating without inner fire…
for the soul sees light
using the heart when
all my eyes can see is dark.
A radiance inhaled
within the sunrise,
or shimmering stars
in a clear night sky;
all conspire to ignite
my oblivious dreams,
a haunted cloaked wall
of ceased desire.
