The Poet Community

Cheap Parchment | A Poem by Scott Thomas Outlar

Yes, every poet
has those days
when they feel
their words
aren’t worth the paper
they’re penned on.

No, that is not
a comfort
to realize
when it’s one of
those days.

Yes, there is a solution
that can be found
by writing
a good one.

No, this isn’t it,
but maybe
it’ll look better
come tomorrow.
