The Poet Community

Miranda | A Poem by Alberto Quero

Far I am from being a hero,
not even close to that
and my circumstances do not allow me to;
it is just this vehemence
and this whirlwind
this furor that has no other loyalties
than itself.
No flag
apart from liberty itself,
can cover me,
only the escape of injustice

And that is the only thing that defines me
and reduces me
because it is the only thing
that obsesses me.

My sole citizenship
is the free will
