The Poet Community

Poems Writing Life | A Poem by Michael Kagan

In the center of infinite space
So special
We are here in this place
Like snowflakes chased
By the winds of madness
Grains of sand
Shifting and reforming
In the crosshaired
Middle of time
Little sacks of flesh
Muscle tied to bone
We are sunbeams
In the core
We are star charged minds
We are the pulse
Of rolling oceans
Sons and daughters of
The thirst for life
As science forever
Exacting perfection
Giving name to particles
Smaller and smaller
Dissects and unravels
The beauty in chaos
Attempts
But cannot explain
What the poet knows
