The Poet Community

Bitten | A Poem by Judy Moskowitz

A swarm of stinging unspoken
Words coming across
Telepathically
Bringing forth an unrelenting itch
So you scratch
Until your skin burns bleeds
Splits spreading salt
Melting snow
You feel it down to the soles
Of your feet
The rhythm section
In full swing
Of your heart beat
Playing the song of fear
You try to wash it off
But you can’t
