The Poet Community

Love | A Poem by El Sane Ken Silencer

I am love,
I lived where hatred hates,
Just like the dove
That fluttered in the wilderness.

I have long long lived,
Before it started raining.
Many have before me smiled,
Before fate put me in chains.

Many faces accoladed my drugs,
Before more became deadened
To my real kisses and hugs;
The world once lived with me.

But the children today
Have made me an aberration,
A memoir left a ‘halcyon days’
That the world reads as confusion.

The Poet Community is completely reader supported, please help me keep it going.
